The project "Citizens, Cities and Video-Surveillance" is about reflecting on and exchanging practices of video-surveillance respecting fundamental rights and privacy. It is about using CCTV in a responsible and democratic manner, in the most efficent and privacy respecting ways.

With the support of the "Fundamental rights and citizenship programme" of the European Commission/DG, Justice, Freedom and Security, ten members of the Forum are working together with European experts on the question of the use of CCTV and the respect of fundamental rights.

After 18 months of field visits and exchanging practices, the project partners proposed at the final conference in Rotterdam a Charter for the democratic use of video-surveillance in European cities.
